Learning Outside the Classroom

Ramsden Primary School are proud to be the first primary school in the country, still the only one in the East Midlands, to have been awarded the Gold LOtC Mark from the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom.  We are lucky to have our own woodland area within the school grounds which the children can explore as well as a bird hide for observing our feathered visitors.

We added to our outside facilities by building an amphitheatre and outdoor classroom within the wood.  Our summer concerts are held here and the children can listen to stories around a campfire.

atest additions have been the pods on the field and a woodland treehouse classroom.

Our school is also home to four guinea pigs, two rabbits and two pigmy goats and recently our very own bee hives!  The children help to care for our animals' feeding and cleaning.

You can see what our children have been up to on our blogs.
